Project: Picnic Tables
The North Haven Education Foundation is undertaking an initiative to place picnic tables across all four elementary schools and the Middle School campuses. These will be 8-foot, galvanized steel framed tables with a zinc-rich black powder coat finish which offers a strong defense against the elements. Our initial program includes three tables at each of the elementary schools and two at the Middle School, with one ADA compliant table at each school. If we can raise more than we hope to, then we can add more!
There are many proven benefits for children who can learn in an outdoor setting; better behavior, engagement, and overall health! Outdoor learning can take place more readily with these tables and classes may have opportunities to eat their snacks and/or lunches outdoors as well. Staff will also reap the benefits of being able to take a break outdoors for lunch or possibly even have meetings at these tables!
With support from our amazingly generous community, we are certain we will accomplish this goal of placing these tables throughout the campuses!
Community-sponsored tables will be labeled with steel, donor recognition plaques to perpetually recognize your contribution.
The Foundation encourages our community businesses to consider sponsoring a table as a gift to our students and schools.
Total cost per table, including shipping and tax is $1,000
Donations of $500 or more will be recognized on a plaque
We will contact you for your recognition plate proof.
Purchase a table now using the DONATE button below! Be sure to note your business name in the comments section.
Contributions of any denomination are gladly accepted.
You can also send your gift by mail to:

“Green Acres is very grateful to have these picnic tables. They will be used to provide opportunities for students and staff to have shared outdoor seating for everything from eating, working together, or just sitting and having the opportunity to socialize and talk together. Thank you again for helping the students and staff of North Haven Public Schools!”
Christian J. Strickland
Principal, Green Acres Elementary School
“ ...They (tables) would be used by our students (recess, outdoor snack, outdoor learning) and our staff! Also, many families use the playground on the weekends, and they would use the tables for quick little picnics.”
Christopher Mc Laughlin
Principal, Ridge Road Elementary School
“At the middle school level, the tables will provide a place for the teachers to take a break and eat lunch. As we move through the year, I can also envision staff using them for small group activities.“
Principal, North Haven Middle School
